Radha Kalyanam Celebration
Radha Kalyanam

The celestial wedding of Sri Radha and Sri Krishna, a profound symbolism of the union of Jivatma with Paramatma.

The Divine Union

RADHA KALYANAM is not the marriage of two mortals. It is the union of the Jivatma (individual soul) with the Paramatma (the supreme soul). Radha represents the Jivatma and Krishna, the Paramatma.

Radha’s intense devotion and unconditional love for Krishna is the highest form of Bhakthi. When the Jivatma is totally free of ego and other impurities, it becomes Radha and merges with the supreme Lord.

Radha Kalyanam is part of the Dakshina Bharatha Sampradaya Bhajan. It is a tradition to sing and celebrate the celestial wedding of Radha and Krishna. It is firmly believed that those who attend and witness this divine marriage will be rid of all their sins and will attain salvation. Married couples who witness the event are believed to be blessed with a long and happy married life.

Gnanananada Seva Samajam (GSS Canada) organizes Radha Kalyanam under the banner "CANADA RADHA KALYANAM" every year during the US Memorial day weekend which falls around last week of May. We also organize annual Ashtapadi Bhajan every year around "HOLI", the festival of colours.
